San Francisco - Universal Health Care since 2007
Not many people around the country know that San Francisco, California has had universal health care since 2007.

Gavin Newsome, past mayor, said as soon as San Francisco stopped asking how to get everyone "health insurance" and how to get "health care", it was not that hard or expensive and San Francisco started in 2007 with its Healthy San Francisco plan.

San Francisco inspired parts of Colorado's approach with Senate Bill 11-168 to design the Colorado Health Care Cooperative:
