You won't believe the latest talking points in the budget debate!
http://www.mercurynews.com/california-budget/ci_17631386

"There's things we could have done instead of throwing the elderly and children and the most vulnerable under the bus," said Assemblywoman Shannon Grove.... "To give us these cuts that address the most vulnerable is pathetic."

"I wonder at what point we are going to take (this) seriously and stop focusing our cuts on the most disadvantaged in California," said Assemblyman Cameron Smyth... in opposition to $600 million in developmentally disabled cuts.

So far, so good. Now here's the kicker:

Both these assemblymembers are repukes! That's right, the very same repukes who block even the most modest efforts to raise revenue at every turn, and are even holding up Gov. Brown's proposal to eliminate redevelopment agencies (they didn't seem to have a problem with Arnie when he tried to raid their funds, though). :wow:

2. Supporting my theory that there are decent Republicans, they've just been afraid to speak up.

3. They've also been afraid to vote for any revenue.
If they'd do that, we wouldn't be in this position.
