Diablo Canyon. Rally, Saturday, April 16 at noon, Avila Beach. Sponsored by San Luis Obispo Mothers for Peace. Concord: Grassroots Rally to end the use of nuclear power: The rally will be on May 6th at 1pm at Todos Santos park in downtown Concord, CA at 1pm rain or shine. We are working with our friends at the Concord police station to ensure this is a safe and fun event. We are encouraging people to bring their picket signs and their families. Why - To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the tragic nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl and to provide information about the dangers of nuclear power as well as motivate people to help re-ignite a timely and much needed anti-nuclear movement.
What - Screening of award-winning prophetic thriller, "The China Syndrome" starring Jane Fonda, Michael Douglas, and Jack Lemmon. The screening will be followed by public discussion and speakers, including a Chernobyl survivor.
