1. Been there, done that. What do you want to know?

Pros;
Good place to set up a meth lab.
There are worse places you could live. Sulpher, Louisianna comes to mind.

Cons;
115 degrees, day after day after day and 100% humidity in the summer and Tule fog so thick you can't see past your nose in the winter.

Anything else?

As bad as they are, your "cons" are actually better than your "pros". Was there anything you liked about it?

3. It's close to Yosemite and Kings canyon National Park.

Two of the most gloriuois places on earth.

Housing is dirt cheap.

If you like canning and preserving, Lemoore is the place to be after the harvest. The growers will often let you pick the gleanings from their fields for almost nothing. Last time I visited my folks down there, I put up about 20 quarts of tomatoes and 20 pints of Apricots for about $5.00.

It's the place to be for fresh fruits and veggies. Organic, not so much.

I took a trip to Yosemite and saw the Giant Forest and climbed Moro Rock. Amazing.

4. Let me give you some information.

There are certain members of this board who HATE HATE HATE the San Joaquin Valley and everyone in it (see above poster). However, I actually LIVE here and allow me to answer your questions HONESTLY. Hanford is a small but growing community. It sort of reminds me of a large version of Mayberry and has very lovely people. We have very few "113 degree" days here. In fact, there are times that the VAlley is actually cooler than L.A.

Lemoore's claim to fame is, of course, it's Naval Air Station. It's essentially a military town. It's about 30 minutes away from Hanford.

Is there anything specific you'd like to know FROM SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY LIVES HERE?

6. I recently spent some time there

and I'll probably be there once a month from now on. I've already met a lot of really nice people. I haven't experienced the fog yet but I have been warned. I noticed the political signs on the farms. Is that indicative of the way people think there?

It's out in the boonies but it's a VERY interesting place and the admission price is a whopping $5.00.

The political signs, unfortunately, is what we're judged by. The problem is that LARGE landowners will post multiple signs from multiple angles making it look like EVERYONE in the area is a right wing loon. The fact is that Fresno County voted for Obama in 2008. Kings, Tulare and Kern Counties are pretty red but that doesn't mean we don't have a VERY active progressive/liberal community, we do. We're just as diverse as any other part of the state. I hope you take time to enjoy the Valley. There's lots to see and lots of wonderful people to meet. One more thing -- there's PLENTY of organic farming here in the Valley. I can too and buy only from organic growers which are VERY easy to find when one isn't blinded by bigotry.

Regarding the signs, that's what I thought. In fact, a local we met also said it was a bunch of BS.

1. Youre right, I don't live there, anymore. I went to Lemoore High, my parents lived there from the early 60's to a few years ago. My half sister and my younger brother grew up there and my brother and his family still live in Visalia where he owns an HVAC company so save the snark. I may not share your love of the valley but my opinion is just as valid as yours.

Look, I don't want to dis your town, obviouslly, you're happy there but in my 60 years on this earth, Lemoore is, by far, the worst place I have ever lived. Maybe I'm lucky that I got out when I did but I have seen enough of the world to have formed an opinion and my opinion is that I would much prefer to live elsewhere. Almost anywhere elsewhere.

That's what makes the world go round. My opinion is different from yours.

12. Where the hell is the San Joicain Valley? Never heard of it.

However, on Sunday I was in Pixley, Earlimart, Turlock etc. There was absolutely no humidity to speak of.
