Local Occupy Wall Street supporters organize Brunswick rally
A newly formed Occupy Wall Street Nevada County (OWS-NC) community group plans to hold a rally at the intersection of Brunswick Road and Sutton Way to show support for the Occupy Wall Street movement at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

"On Sept. 17, protesters marched on Wall Street to convey a simple message: 99 percent of the populous has been treated unfairly by the other 1 percent. Crossing political, racial and even economical lines, the movement has been sweeping the nation and making headlines across the globe," wrote Joseph Crain, of the OWS-NC group, in a prepared statement.

According to Crain, the OWS-NC community group was formed in response to the events on Wall Street. The goal is to create a community resource for locals to learn about and participate in the movement, he wrote.

"The purpose of the Wednesday Brunswick rally, scheduled to reach peak attendance during the daily 5 o'clock rush hour, is to peacefully demonstrate the local shared dissent of the business practices used by mega-entities which compromise global humanity," Crain writes. "In addition, organizers hope to encourage people to take part in their local community, to strengthen support for each other, and encourage the building of processes that will support all communities well into future generations ...
