George Clooney is the way to go. If you saw the terrible movie "Intolerable Cruelty" you can't deny that he has the look and charisma to stand up to Arnold. He's smart and Democratic, but I don't think he's as far out on the left wing as Begley and such. Middle class roots, worked his way up to build his career. Plus people will think he used to be a doctor, and has done enough rough and tumble action roles to stand up to Arnold.

Debate? No freakin' contest...

After we get rid of Arnold, we can go back to dumpy, bland, but effective politicians.

For now, we need someone who will draw the stupids to the polls that they already have positive associations with like the GOP did with Arnold. He had one or two issues he flogged that that were near and dear to the far right, but he really won because he was the terminator.

We need someone with at least a comparable Q, and some personality strengths where Arnold is weak. It's the stupid "Who would you want to have a beer with?" test. Danny Glover has that rumpled, regular guy quality.

Sheen? Are you kidding? There isn't much beyond the neat plastic exterior! Rob Reiner? Brilliant, but has been marginalized as a hollywood liberal. Rob should run for mayor of Los Angeles first, prove himself on the job and then make the next step. There isn't a celebrity on that list or on any list that can out celebrity Arnold.

Arnold has been a professional celebrity for 20 years or more. He is a master in the art of self-promotion. He wasn't an ACTOR or director or even a producer, like Reiner or others on the list. He was a profession personality, who happened to get some roles in movies.

Do you really want this next race to become about who gets off the best one-liner? Who has the biggest smile and whose movies grossed the most profit???

WAKE UP!

You need to find something NEW. Not a smarmy politician, not an actor or actress.

What you really need is a CEO or business owner with progressive values. Someone who has run a sucessful business/company. Someone who can attack Arnold where he is the weakest, on actual issues that matter. There are CEO's out there who aren't all about greed. There are companies that treat workers well, take care of employees and their families and STILL manage to make a profit, without outsourcing or screwing the public (Think Ben & Jerry's).

California is in real financial trouble and we are piling debt upon debt to get out of it. You want to get voters excited, get someone who has the credentials to attack THOSE specific problems. Again, not a politician, someone who will have the same "outsider" credentials, BUT be able to actually address specific problems instead of just smiling at them.
