Ahnold calls Democrats spending addicts & repeats his same tired script
Gov. Calls Democrats 'Addicts'
They just can't stop spending, he says. Opposition decries the 'partisan rhetoric.'
By Robert Salladay
Times Staff Writer

February 12, 2005

SACRAMENTO — In a fiery speech to Republican faithful Friday evening, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger ridiculed Democrats as wasteful spending "addicts" who have been taking "sleeping pills," and he characterized California's problems as stemming from "evil."

The speech before about 1,000 people at a convention of the California Republican Party — a traditionally conservative crowd of stalwarts — featured Schwarzenegger's sharpest rhetoric to date as he prepared for a possible special election in November that would shake up state government.

The governor said the Democrat-controlled Legislature has refused to solve serious structural problems with the state budget and its political machinery.

"Now we are going to the source — right there where all the evil is — and we're going to fix this problem once and for all," Schwarzenegger said. "We're going to say this reform is going to happen because now we have a governor who represents the people's interests instead of special interests." http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-arnold12feb12,0,3276726.story?coll=la-home-headlines

This is the same guy who previously supported borrowing money which increased the state's indebtedness rather than deal substantively with the problem. Made a show of cutting vehicle registration fees, thus losing billions for the state and then local jurisdicitions. And whose own fund raising among the "special interests" has reached record proportions. And also while having a convenient PAC established that can raise unlimited funds while supporting all his endeavors/proposals while he appears at "their" public events. All those industries writing checks are just "concerned citizens" rather than "special interests." Uh huh. :eyes:

How's your buddy Ken Lay doing these days, Ahnold?

1. This guy is going to govern eventually, right?
All I see so far from the "governator" is a lot of name-calling. He hasn't done anything substantive yet, besides screwing the state out of billions when he repealed the car tax increase. No, it wasn't popular. Tax increases rarely if ever are. But Jesus H. Christ, we're all adults here. Sometimes you have to do unpopular things when you're a leader.

Some Democrat needs to run as the T-2000--the "Terminator-terminator" that will get the job done. Arnold's governorship needs to be terminated and this must be done in such a way that he won't be back.

5. Stop talking about the trees..
.. and look at a whole forest of Ahnulds.

Much like his silver screen alter ego, it does not matter where he is, what clothes he's wearing and not even the words he's mouthing.

What's important is he's regurgitating a well defined and limited script, written by 'The Party' and specifically tailored to milk and feed the expectations of the popcorn munching political rabble.

The popcorn crowd abhors complexity and craves black and white certainties, so the actor simply acts it out.

3. And Dean's line, "You can't trust Republicans with your money"
will become the new mantra to counter Arnie's b.s.
