RMN: Salazar 11 points ahead of Coors!!!!!!!
YEEEEAH!

Poll finds Hispanic, rural electorate key for Dem over Coors

By Lynn Bartels, Rocky Mountain News
September 18, 2004

Colorado may be a Republican-leaning state, but voters so far prefer Democratic Attorney General Ken Salazar over beer baron Pete Coors in the high- stakes U.S. Senate race.

If the election were held today, 53 percent of voters would select Salazar, while 42 percent would choose Coors, a Rocky Mountain News/News 4 poll found.

1. this might end-up..
depressing GOP turnout in Colorado, if they see their state as being overtaken by Democrats. Even if it's a tiny, tiny number of Colorado GOPers who stay home, it might make all the difference in the world..

5. So it looks like we have a chance of..
Gaining seats in:
Alaska
Colorado
Oklahoma
Illinois

Holding seats in:
Louisiana
Florida
North Carolina

Losing seats in:
South Carolina
Georgia

If this trend holds and if all other races have incumbent wins, the senate is in our control, right? Weird..

And if the Senate ends-up 50-50 (we win one less race), it would take a VP to break ties.. hmm..

7. We saw one yard this morning...
...with a Salazar sign right next to a Chimpy/Cheney one.

Weird!

8. We've got a lot of that out here on the Western Slope
...plenty of Republicans know Coors is a nutbag, and Salazar's got a track record they understand and appreciate. :)

9. YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Also, need help with sign
I've had my yard sign up since before the Primary! Now I desperately need a Kerry/Edwards. But I haven't been able to get out of the house to get downtown. Still recuperating from my gallbladder surgery. Is there any place here in Jefferson County where we can get one?

11. I picked up the metal part for you, but they are out of the signs
I read your message this morning, and when I was out a bit later, I stopped at the office, but they are out of the signs. They said, however, that you can call in and they will send one to you in the mail when they come in.

They can't send the metal part, but I picked up one for you, and can drop it off for you when I'm in that area, if you can tell me about where you are.

Let me know.....

Kanary

10. Salazar appeals to both sides.
I know of at least two Republicans who voted for Salazar in his last election.

12. Of course Salazar will win...Coors is an egotistical billionaire...
with zero track record. Salazar has a track record to be proud of as AG...he's going to be a great senator, and, unlike his predecessor, he will not "turn into" a Repub. MKJ

14. Someone was talking about him on Air America
And they mentioned that his family goes back to the 1500s here in Colorado. Put that in your beer bottle and shake it, Pete Coors!
