Absentee Ballot?
The last three days, I've gotten two messages from the DNC urging me to absentee ballot this year. In Colorado, is it something we really need to worry about or are they just being safe?

2. It's part of the DNC national coordinated campaign strategy...
In all states where "no-fault" absentee balloting is available (basically, you can have an absentee regardless of whether you will actually be absent on election day or not), the DNC is trying to get as many identified dems on permanent absentee ballot as possible.

Then, what they do is "chase" those identified Dems and "bank" the votes, by calling them every day after absentee ballots are mailed and reminding them to vote, until the local election office shows that ID'd Dem as having sent their ballot back.

It may be an effective strategy, but I hate it. I'm voting at the polls because I enjoy voting at the polls. (Although if I lived in a paperless touchscreen jurisdiction, I would be voting by absentee to ensure a paper trail/ballot)

3. That last part...
is exactly my thoughts. In the 2000 election, I was still registered in Grand Junction (even though I was in school at Greeley), so I absenteed. Same with 2002. I remembered going to the polls when I was 10 in 1992 to help my dad vote for Clinton (he let me push the pin through the ballot). I want to experience voting! That said, if it's better for us to do it this way to GUARANTEE our vote, I'll do it in a split second.

4. Don't forget, absentee ballots are counted after the machine ballots.
Under that scenario, we might not know the outcome for days.
