Protesters say election anomalies ignored

About 100 protesters gathered on the steps of the state Capitol on Saturday, calling attention to what they say are anomalies in the Nov. 2 election and a "media blackout" of election-fraud coverage.

Organized by several activist groups from the metro area, speakers pointed to the difference between exit polls, conducted mainly by research groups, and the results of the election in several key states.

"That (the pollsters) made these errors is unexplained," said University of Denver political scientist Alan Gilbert. "And it deserves to be explained."

But there were more like 200-250 people there, not 100. And of course no TV news showed up. :grr:

1. it makes me angry that the TV news doesn't cover the protests

After all, they cover what bush has to say every day of the week. But when the people "talk back," what they have to say is ignored.

But you know, just 'cause they're not reporting it doesn't mean it will go away. It will just get louder. They will not be able to ignore us forever.

3. hey I was there too....

I had about 100 flyers and could have used a lot more....you are right on the number of people that showed up!

also I had a cell phone and called the media (channel 4) they said they would try to come. Then minutes later said they had the avalance warning and a plane accident to cover! WHAT A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT!

I still thought it was great though..particularly when they held up the signs for the phone numbers to the media.....I think they did a great job yesterday!

They told me they were sending someone over. Liars!!

But you're tight, that part when they held up the phone numbers was great. They need to do that at every protest.

5. I was there too, and I figured that at about 12:40 there were

around 150 or so people (maybe 15 people walked up late). I was about 15 minutes late myself.

7. So who organized this and how do I get on the list for next time?

I'd also love to see a copy of those fliers. We should be leaving them at CU Boulder and other campuses.

8. What I know

most people attending the rally seemed to be a consortium of people, mostly Coloradoans for Voting Integrity and the Denver Voice.

I got my info about that rally from (you'll have to be patient, they are low on bandwidth) and from this DU Colorado forum.) One of the speakers was from Denver Voice.

I thought I heard that a like-minded group meets about election fraud at the Mercury Cafe on Monday evenings.

I will check out my handouts for more info when I get home. I am not really hooked up with any group by email either (but need to be).

I don't really fit the dem profile, you know -- as a matter of fact, I think I was the most suburbia-living, yuppies, soccer-mom type-looking person there.

But I still made my signs, and marched yelling as loudly as anyone!
