Colorado Springs - Thirteen local Republican officials have rejected their chairman's call to step down for endorsing a write-in candidate for El Paso County commissioner.

El Paso County GOP chairman Lee Gilbert said the party would hold hearings to decide whether the 13 should lose their posts as precinct committee heads for endorsing write-in candidate Bob Null over the Republican nominee, anti-tax crusader Douglas Bruce.

Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera said Gilbert was overreacting and going after valuable party members.

1. Love to see this stuff.

The Criminal Party needs to keep criminals in positions of control, otherwise their system's going to break down. But they do this and they start losing their base. The litmus test for being a good Party member is going to be set impossibly low.
