Which county in the state is the worst from a political standpoint?
I would probably say either Douglas or El Paso would be my bets.

1. El Paso
Douglas is bad, but not that bad. In fact, we had record turnout (94%) last election. The County Clerk credited the DEMOCRATS for helping get out the vote!!

GO DOUGCO DEMS!

5. I Vote for El Paso
I work in Colorado Springs, surrounded by Repugs. In fact, the Repugs in El Paso County regularly accuse each other of not being "Republican enough".

Thankfully, I live in Democratic stronghold Pueblo County.

2. With out a doubt: Douglas
I still laugh when I think about the MLK parade they had in Highlands Ranch, when they had to bus in black kids from Aurora. Too funny... "see Jimmy, that's what a colored person looks like".

3. I did state petitions in Douglas a few times
I'm getting too old, my heart couldn't take it. 100% Bushit bumperstickers on SUV"s. Mom was on the way to Karate!

4. This reminds me.
When I was campaigning for Salazar, we were doing a rally when he was going to have a debate with Coors and there were Coors people there too. Though the Coors people appearently got bussed in from Oklahoma. Our campaign bus was driving around while some guy on the loudspeaker said "The bus to Oklahoma leaves at midnight."

6. Adams County: Home of our best prisons
and worst libraries. They built a new jail in Brighton and added on to it while the libraries, per capita, is the least funded in CO. They built a new courthouse and they plan to build a new county campus east of Brighton. Adams has one of the state's highest unemployment rates. West of Brighton, the housing developments define sprawl. The K-Mart warehouse east of Brighton was built on land that was stolen from the hard-working people who owned it.

Our largest city: Thornton's library is smaller than Fredrick's library and Thornton is much larger than Fredrick. In fact Thornton is one of CO's fastest growing "cities." Thornton is building a new prison.

Westminister schools are the top for students transfering out of the district. And I won't even mention Commerce City.

Under Bill Owens, Colorado has become one of the worst states in America and Adams county is its worst county.

i live in the springs, and if you include local government, they are as corrupt as they come! they openly get away with whatever the hell they want here. it sucks to live here, but very educational from a political standpoint.

9. Weld: Musgrave
I used to live in Douglas, and yes, it is white yuppie Bush supporters (they don't know any better), but we have Musgrave up here in Weld county...remember: she's the one that created the federal gay marriage ban.

At least UNC voted very liberal....
