5. I don't care for any of them.
 They need to go back to the drawing board. And make one that represents something AUTHENTIC... something unique to Colorado, something that reminds us fondly of Colorado, something more of us can agree on and be proud of.

6. What is there to be proud of?
People starving and murdering others in the gold rush?
The Massacre at Sand Creek which started the Plains Indian Wars?
The extermination of the buffalo and the indians?
Evans, Tabor and Gould getting rich at the expense of others?
Packer eating his companions?
The Meeker Massacre followed by "The Utes Must Go?"
The Ludlow Massacre?
The Dust Bowl?
The Japanese and German internment camps?
The KKK?
Consumption clinics?
The Big Thompson Flood?
The Rocky Flats and Rocky Mt. Arsenal permanent contamination areas?
The mine pollution (especially Summitville)?
The exploitation of Mexican migrants?
The anti-gay amendment?
The ass-hole Republicans who promoted the TABOR amendment.
The oil boom and bust?
Unrestrained and unplanned growth?
The ruining of the aquifers?
The High Tech bubble?

Well, we do have the ski and beer industries.

Anybody got any more?

7. Focus on the Family?
Chuckie Cheese Massacre? (we eat at the salad bar in the same building now and then, but it still creeps me out)

Columbine? (not the flower)

Aurora Hammer Murders?

Conceal and Carry Law?

I know! I know! The Broncos!!

Let's put a can of Coors on one side of the coin and John Elway on the other.

8. There was a good counter demonstration to the Fred Phelps weirdos.
On Friday there were just a handful of them and over 500 well mannered, counter protesters. No one from the local community came to support the Phelps weirdos. They really didn't do anything to gain support for any anti gay sentiments, quite the contrary. The counter demonstrators showed just how ugly, hateful and unchristian the other side is.

And as for the coins, if we are going to have mountains, they should be real Colorado mountains. :-)

9. Ya' did good - takin' on the Phelps Thugs
I was just riding the Moan Train in my post. I try to avoid Colo Springs if I can. For some unexplained reason my car always wants to steer to the left when I drive there. :D

There are a lot of good things about Colorado... the Mountains fer' sure... but even that...no, I won't go there.
