The Final Step – Make Verified Voting a Reality in Colorado
Representatives Could Pass SB 198 This Week
Before this week ends, your representatives will be deciding whether or not to safeguard Colorado's votes. The legislature will soon adjourn, so this is our last chance to pass SB 198, a strong law requiring verifiable elections. This bill requires a voter-verified permanent paper record, random audits of the voting machines, and other measures that will improve the election system 1. With all the problems that paperless e-voting machines present, a reliable and verifiable voting system would allow voters to feel confident that their votes are counted as cast.
The state Senate has already approved the verifiable voting bill on a bipartisan vote, and local activists have generated strong public support for it as well. The House vote this week is the last hurdle.
Please send a message to your state representatives urging them to pass SB 198:
