Advocate asks IRS to look at bishop
Letter on elections seen as violating tax-exempt status

A national religion watchdog group on Thursday asked the Internal Revenue Service to investigate whether Colorado Springs Bishop Michael Sheridan violated the diocese's tax-exempt status.

But I heard elsewhere that since Bishop Sheridan did not mention any candidate by name, he is off the hook.
