Gop's Holtzman out of Guv race, instead will fight refs C & D
http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_2917962

snip
Republican gubernatorial candidate Marc Holtzman said today he is suspending his campaign so he can fight a measure on the November ballot asking voters to give up $3.6 billion in tax surplus refunds over the next five years.

...Holtzman called on his likely primary opponent, Rep. Bob Beauprez, to do the same.
---

Beuprez says its a smokescreen for Hotzman's failing campaign.

If I recall, Holtzman was once one of Owens' economic advisers. So if he couldn't fix the state budget then, why should he have a say now?

1. Damn.
I was hoping Holtzman and Beauprez would go at it in a primary. This is not good for us.

2. Don't worry - Beauprez is finished.
I predict that all Colorado GOP will be summarily dismissed when the scandals linking Chimp goes down like a $1 whore.

3. Holtzman says he didn't really quit.
But he doesn't seem to have the backing Beauprez does according to a Denver Post opinion piece this past weekend. I do hope he keeps running. He may have been trying to position himself against Beauprez, we'll see how well that works.
