I received an email from Moe Keller detailing some new Colorado laws she supported or sponsored. Here is one regarding election recounts.

For elections in which more than one person is to be elected, this bill requires a recount if the difference between the votes cast for the candidate who won the election with the least votes and the candidate who lost the election with the most votes is less than or equal to one-half of one percent. The bill would take effect July 1, 2006, and would apply to elections held on or after that date. It clarifies how election officials should calculate recounts for multiple-seat offices, but should not significantly increase the number of elections that require a recount. Therefore, it is assessed as having no fiscal impact.
