Voting Rules in CO for Felons?
Edited on Thu Nov-02-06 11:30 PM by XboxWarrior
OK, I am on felony probation here in CO. (never been to prison) I was at the Clerk and Recorders office today and asked if I was registered to vote, while getting some new plates. The lady made a call and said that, yes in fact I was, but if I didn't vote on Tuesday I would be taken off the list, since I didn't think I 'could' vote in '04.

I was just searching arround the SOS site and didn't find any info on this matter. Could someone here possibly point me in the proper direction? Oh, and on this laptop I don't have Adobe, so I can't read .pdf's (dial up at the cabin)

Thanks in Advance,

Peace

on edit: I didn't want to get in more trouble for voting....

1. Yes. You can vote.
I have a friend that is on a felony probation (although it was under federal probation) and he was allowed to vote.

2. is there not a site?
Well, thanks for that reply.....I do feel that I "could" vote, as the lady in the clerks office said I was on the registered list. However, I am in a small town, and moving the court to terminate my probation. I didn't want to compromise my chances of that happening by voting. (the polling place is the courthouse) Is there not a site that spells out these rules for us simple rubes?

peace

p.s. this CO board is rolling slow considering the Haggard news.......

Just went to the courthouse and I VOTED early! Turns out, only people that are on felony parole, not felony probation, in CO lose that right. It's buried on the SOS site somewhere according to the clerk. So if I had been poor, and my skin was darker, I for sure would have went to Canyon City, and lost my voting rights.......Now to go buy me some Guns! (not)

Good luck Ritter....

and fuck off musgrave...

Good luck Fawcett

not one dem candidate on the local Teller, CO stuff.....it's redder than Foxworthy's neck here!

I hope the civil unions ref. has a chance!
