COLORADO SPRINGS - Three traffic stops since March. A fascination with guns. And a building frustration over the "drama" in his life.
As 25-year-old Marco Reiner Lee lay in a bed at Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, investigators struggled to understand the motivation of the man accused of opening fire on police and killing Colorado Springs Officer Ken Jordan.
A family member told The(Colorado Springs) Gazette that Lee "thinks like the world is all against him" - and court records suggest he acted that way.
Lee, who mugged for his MySpace page dressed in camo and a bulletproof vest, had two encounters with police before Monday's fatal stop.
In March, a police officer stopped Lee for speeding, clocking him at an estimated 80 mph in a 55-mph zone on Interstate 25.
When the officer told Lee about his speed, Lee shouted, "You're f------ crazy. You're out of your f------ mind," according to a court affidavit.
