Need Visitor Info/Suggestions for Denver. . .
My brothers and I are getting together in Denver over the Labor Day Weekend.

The brother who lives in Denver is disabled, confined to a wheelchair. Can anyone give a recommendation for where we can go with him on an outing?

He likes sports and music, but any suggestions are welcome. It doesn’t have to be an event, either -- we’re just looking for a pleasant place to take him, get him out of his apartment: a street fair or an unusual park would be great, but we’re open for anything.

He lives near the 25 and 225 interchange.

We’re only going to have two days for doing something with him (we’re modifying his apartment the rest of the time), so we’d rather not travel outside the Denver area.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

1. The Denver Botanic Gardens comes to mind
It's located around 10th Ave. and York on the east side of town. It wouldn't take long to get there and makes a nice outing for even half a day.

If you ever get back and would like to take him up into the mountains for a day of mountain fun, consider Wilderness On Wheels that's located on Hwy 285. We took my mom there for day picnics. There's just nothing like it. Here's the web site to tuck away for future reference.

2. The 16th street mall is always good.
Very accessible and easy for those in a wheelchair. Lots of stuff to do down here.

4. If you're here during these dates..
check out the Taste of Colorado. It's a place to try different foods and there are vendors selling things. They also have several different bands playing at different times. It's at the Civic Center Park in downtown Denver and it does get crowded. Here's the website if you're interested.

8. Red Rocks
Quick drive out of Denver. Amazing views and great history if he's a music lover.
You can tour it anytime... don't necessarily need to see a show.
