... Beth Hammer is 64 years old, a retired banker who lives in an elegant, newer home inside a gated community in Wheat Ridge.

So why, you might ask, have people the past four months knocked on or left notes on this woman's door, basically threatening to maim, spindle or otherwise mutilate her?

The answer isn't because she is flying the American flag on the front porch of her home. No, people are outright sneering at her publicly because she is flying the American flag upside down.

The Cambridge Park Home-owners Association also continues to believe that Beth Hammer and her husband, Doug, are in violation of the association's "Patriotic and Political Expressions" policy, a woman there said Tuesday.

A hearing is set for tonight in which the five association board members, who in April cited the couple for violating the policy, will decide how much of a fine they should pay. ...

Thought about posting it yesterday but completely forgot - thanks.

She has 1st Amendment to back up her rights. The HOA will lose terribly and probably wind up being sued for damages.
