Did any other DU'ers attend the Denver county caucus today?

It was rowdy, raucous and energizing!

:bounce:

on edit, Rep. DeGette and Sen. Salazar gave speeches in which they lobbied for Rep. Udall for Senate.

Rep. Udall gave a good speech, and then his opponent, Mark Benner, a true liberal progressive, gave a GREAT speech, and, boom, he hit threshold in delegate votes to be on the ballot for the next convention in a couple of months.

I love when unexpected things happen. :-)

1. I was at Arapahoe.
Mark Benner was not.

But I got to shake Gary Hart's hand before he gave a speech for Obama.

4. It was so much more than speeches. We added a candidate to our House District race.
All politics are local.

It was great, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :toast: !!

5. Question from Texas
I'm an Obama supporter down here. There have been some alleged cautionary tales supposedly originating from Colorado that Obama's delegates from the initial caucuses were not showing up at the next level convention and that Hillary was thus gaining strength. Any truth to that or just urban legend?

6. I can only speak to the Denver County caucus.
It turns out that delegates, since 1984, are NON BINDING. I just found that out myself.

Each convention the delegates vote, and and they can choose any one of the three (Gravel is on the ballot), regardless of which candidate they are representing.

We have two more conventions until the National.

I think there might have been fewer Obama delegates there than initially committed, because after the vote, the apportionment between Obama and Clinton in our HD changed from about 70/30 to 60/40.

That's all I can offer. Again, I was surprised that one could switch allegiance any time during the process. I don't know if that's the way it is with all caucuses, though.
