Democratic challenger Betsy Markey has a seven-point lead over Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, driven largely by negative views of the Republican incumbent among independents and moderates, a new poll shows.
Colorado State University political scientist Kyle Saunders said more polls need to be conducted to better understand trends in the election. But he said the Roll Call findings could be ominous for Musgrave, a three-term incumbent.
"If valid, this poll has nothing but bad news for Musgrave; there is very little here that is positive," he said.
The poll by SurveyUSA for Roll Call, a publication that specializes in covering Congress, showed Markey leading Musgrave 50 percent to 43 percent. The poll of 618 likely voters in the 4th Congressional District was conducted Aug. 22-24 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 points.http://www.coloradoan.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080827/NEWS0302/808270332&referrer=FRONTPAGECAROUSELlet's see if we can keep this up...i would love to see musgrave booted from office
