Anti-worker ballot initiatives this election
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 09:36 AM by blondie58
these are some of the amendments that I recently did some phonebanking for my union in association with Labor2008. These are all anti-worker out of state business interest trying to push these through to limit the power and the influence of our unions.

Please vote NO on
Amendment 47- which interferes with the relationship between employer and employees.

Amendment 49- which limits the ability of public employees, such as nurses, firefighters, teachers and police to join together to advocate for changes in the work place.

Amendment 59* would prohibit any person, or family member, of anyone who works on a government contract from contributing to a candidate and/or advocating for an issue at any level.

*initiative 59 will assigned an Amendment number by the Secretary of State.

These amendments are really important to protect decent jobs for working Americans.

edited to add a missing S- that is what happens when you post before having coffee!
