In Monday's Denver Post, there was a racist letter.
The letter ostiensibly involved the "lipstick on a pig" nonsense. The author implied that the use of this phrase in any context was a direct attack on Palin. They make this claim even though we've seen McCain use the phrase against Hillary Clinton and we've even seen Cheney use it. There is no question that the phrase Obama used had nothing to do with Palin.
Yet the author then went on to ask, what if McCain said, "Let's call a spade a spade, Barack Obama...."
It's clever how evil people can get away with blatant racism in the form of false outrage. Of course we know that failing newspapers can no longer hire decent people to make sure that racism is not allowed. Free speech is one thing, but blatant racism should not be tolerated.
