Have you had your yard sign stolen?

Almost everyone I know who had an Obama yard sign here in insane fundamentalist El Paso County, has had it stolen over the last 2 weeks.

Anyone else around here suffered the same fate?

Looks like Dobson's footsoldiers are having a few busy nights....

1. There was a great suggestion

posted on DU a while back: To help keep your yardsigns from being stolen, slather the tops and sides with vaseline. The idea is that when they're skulking around at night and grab the signs, they'll get grossed out, not knowing what they've grabbed. Worth a try.

And ain't it weird that the Dobsonites are free to ignore "Thou Shalt Not Steal." Hmmm.

I might make a sign that says: "Thou shalt not steal thy neighbor's yard sign".

We should make that the unofficial 11th commandment for the next few weeks.

5. I don't know if I could find three

McSame signs in our neighborhood, honestly. There just haven't been a whole lot of them on the west side of C Springs. I might get lucky and find some on the North and East sides since that is where all the Dobson believers live.

FWIW, I don't advocate stealing other's yard signs. I just mark where they are so I know where the nuts live.

but we put our "re-elect Mike Merrifield" sign just inside the yard. The other sign on the gate warning about the dog probably keeps them out of here.:evilgrin:

8. Sign thieves in the night

Once again, some cowardly Republican pile of shit stole our Obama sign last night. This time, the scum replaced the sign with a McCain sign.

Instead of pulling it up, my wife went out with a scissors and sliced the McCain sign to ribbons. So it's there, advertising our feelings, next to the Udall sign, which the slimeball didn't steal.

If the mangled McCain sign gets replaced during the night with a whole one, I think I'll try putting a big circle with a line through it, using black marker, unless the marker won't work on that surface.

Since I don't really have a lawn for my lawn signs, they're displayed in my windows.

You'd have to be Spiderman to take my signs...

12. So far so good here in North Lakewood

We have a double front light that's got a motion sensor. So it could shock a would-be thief if we do get one.

We've got Perlmutter and Udall signs, too.

Sorry it happened to you. Sign stealing is so mindless. Like the idiots down in North Carolina standing across the street from people lined up to early vote this past Sunday. McCain supporters yelling at the voters waiting in line across the way shouting that Sunday is not a proper day to vote, they should be in church. As if Sunday was a day for jeering and being nasty. At least they had to go home dragging their butts having accomplished nothing. Frankly, I think they're just itching for a fight so they can cry foul.

13. Sadly..yes. I am in Durango and all of the yard signs on my street went missing

last night! They've been out for weeks...but last evening McCain did his little event here and I guess his supporters must have been fired up..

because I haven't put one up in my yard for that very reason. I put a large one up in my sliding glass windows (on the inside) facing the main road. To remove it, they'd have to break through the sliding glass windows and deal with 2 large dogs, who'd be happy to eat them. And if that did happen, I just might let my dogs have some repug snacks. :-)
