Here's how it's happening in Greeley:
"The nation’s capital is expected to be packed with visitors taking part in the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration events, but Weld County residents won’t have to go far to get in on the celebration.
An inauguration celebration will be hosted at the Clarion Hotel, the former Regency Hotel, 701 8th St., in Greeley.
The celebration is being sponsored by Greeley 4 Obama and University of Northern Colorado Students for Obama. It will consist of two segments: a morning event and an evening dinner/dance.
At the morning event, which will begin at 9 a.m., participants will view on big screen TVs the swearing in ceremony of President-elect Barack Obama, the inauguration day parade, Obama’s 2004 keynote speech and key campaign speeches. Coffee, rolls and soft drinks will be offered.
The evening dinner/dance event will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner followed by a dance. Dress will be casual to formal. A cash bar will be offered.
Admission to the morning event will be $10. Admission to the dinner/dance will be $15. All-day event passes are $25."
