Republican newspaper ad about stimulus in Denver's Newspapers: 2 points
Edited on Wed Feb-18-09 12:36 PM by Democrats_win
Tuesday Colorado's Republican party put an ad in both Denver papers "Welcoming" Barack Obama back. Here's a link to a Westword column that contains the ad (just go down a little to find the actual wording of the ad)
http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2009/02/post_8.php

Here are two points about the ad:

1. It contains a joke from Denver Post columnist Ed Quillen that the COGOP says criticizes the stimulus plan. But, the joke is about the bailout! You know, bush's banker bailout. So why didn't they use the word "stimulus" if it was about the stimulus? If you read the column, there is little question it's about the Republican bush banker bailout.

Here's the quote/joke and a link to the Quillen's entire column:

"My bartender daughter Columbine told me last week that she had come up with a joke. She posted a sign that read: "Try our new drink, the Bailout. You don't know what's in it, and it's very expensive."

"She figured it would be good for a few chuckles, and it was. But to her surprise, some people wanted to order a Bailout. Now she's trying to figure out the price and the ingredients — sort of like Congress."

2. The ad criticizes our Democratic U.S. Senator Michael Bennet. "When Colorado's newly appointed U.S. Senator Michael Bennet has had a chance to actually read the 1,071-page spending bill he voted for, he'll see why so many Coloradans are concerned." I guess the GOP is in no mood to apologize for not reading the Patriot act before it was passed.

Anyway, the point is, that the COGOP attacked Bennet. I figure that former GOP CO governor Bill Owens plans to run for that Senate seat in 2010. He's been stinking up the political world for a few weeks lately. BTW, it's not true that Owens beat his wife. But the rumors about him having an affair that resulted in a child are still around. Let the games begin.

1. Yup, divorce proceedings are still pending
And we'll be DAMNED sure to air out Blowen's stupid dirty laundry.

There's nobody left in COGOP that'll beat Bennett once he's doing his job (so far so good. I'm giving him 100% thus far, and was very quick in responding to my email complaining of the stimulus bill)

Douglas Bruce? Nah. Even though the 'tards love him, but he's still dirty as hell, and we're still trying to deBrucify his crappy TABOR law.
