FBI stop men with guns at terror suspect's apartment complex
Source: 9NEWS

ARAPAHOE COUNTY - Three men clad in camouflage pants were stopped by federal agents overnight after they were found walking around the apartment complex where a terror suspect lives. Two of the men were carrying loaded firearms.

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation stopped the men as they walked through the parking lot of the Vistas at Saddle Rock Apartments, located at 22959 East Smoky Hill Road. The FBI was at the complex because they've been investigating terror suspect Najibullah Zazi, who lives there.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department says one of the men, 37-year-old Brian Laro, was armed with a loaded AR-15 rifle slung over his shoulder and another man, 24-year-old Timothy Guinn, had a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol tucked into his waistband. The third suspect was unarmed.

The men told agents they had been at Laro's apartment "having a few beers" when they heard what they thought was a gunshot, then they went to investigate.

I live in this area. Nice to know that I'm being protected by drunken gun nuts.

5. They got such a bad rep as Minute Men ya'know, and it's cheaper to patrol your own neighborhood.
Beer is easier to get locally than out on the waste desert border

8. I think I'll start patrolling my neighborhood.
it might wake up a lot of folks.

Last time we had something like that happen it was a guy that came back from the Nam and occassionally he'd lose his mind, suffer flashbacks and don his camos, grab his AR-15 and hide in the bushes here there and everywhere on the block. Jeez, that was about 30 years ago and we all understood what he was going thru. They didn't even have the word post traumatic stress syndrome coined yet.

He never shot anyone, but he was locked and loaded.

Now these guys in AZ, they're assholes thru and thru. I wonder if they ever heard a gunshot in a city setting?

11. Ummm, so the FBI kidnapped the men overnight?
Edited on Sun Sep-20-09 04:11 PM by buckrogers1965
Because last time I checked, the FBI has no jurisdiction in parking lots in towns in any state, unless a federal crime has been committed by those being detained.
