Colorado Citizen Funded Campaigns - Ballot Initiative # 53
Colorado Citizen Funded Campaigns - Ballot Initiative # 53

Colorado follows existing publicly funded campaigns provisions in Arizona, Connecticut and Maine with Colorado Citizen Funded Campaigns - Ballot initiative #53. Currently, 90 percent of the time, the candidate with the most money wins the election. This ballot initiative restores democracy by allowing candidates to run for office that may not have big money supporters. If you haven't already, please checkout www.CleanCampaignsColorado.com - your help is needed.

1. Cool.
I'm for that, as I did support the same initiative when I was living in 'Zona. (That was before we elected Janet)

Yes on 53.

2. Clean campaigns could mean
no more people like this in office:

Came to this forum to post, but didn't want to kick the clean campaigns off the top.

3. Not necessarily better, just changing who decides
Citizen funded election campaigns does not necessarily mean that we will have better elected officials. What it does mean that people that have support can now have a chance, even if they do not have big money contributors. Then it is up to the voters, rather than the special interest money to elect good representatives.

4. How about 'in area' contributions,
so that Colorado Springs, say, couldn't sway elections in Greeley?
