Civil Unions to be voted on in committee monday.
My email to my Senator who sits on the committee:

Dear Senator

You will have a difficult choice on Monday. Understand this is not a question of marriage; you will not be protecting anyone's religious beliefs by voting against civil unions in committee. You will be deciding whether Connecticut will remember you the same way that we look back a few decades on the Dixiecrats and segregationists. 74% of Connecticutters support Civil Unions. You have the choice to see which way the wind is blowing and come along for the ride. Or you can actively oppose equality for homosexuals and we as your constituents can replace you with someone who will legalize homosexual marriage as opposed to the Civil Union. Realize the importance of the nature of this action. It is not being imposed by courts as was the case in Vermont. It is not being imposed by an executive as in San Francisco. This is the people of your state asking for you to do the right thing. Your constituent is asking you to do the right thing.

Sir if you vote against equal rights for homosexuals I will assure you that your general election opponent you have will have me as a contributor and volunteer.

Your constituent

Now i have to figure out who my state legislators are! We moved not too long ago, and I have been lazy about it.

5. Go here.

The ACLU finds them for you automatically. Hell if you sign up for their email list they will tell you when your senator or rep is holding out on votes for civil liberties.
