Why did our legislature go so far over the cap with their budget?
Geez, instant bad publicity with our latest budget proposal being over the spending cap by such a large amount. Great front page headlines for Rell.

It would have been a great opportunity to submit a balanced budget that included the millionaire's tax and did not eliminate the estate tax (like Rell's budget).

But, now we have cannon fodder for the 2006 election campaign.

Yes, I know it's early.

I don't get it. We were in a very strong position, budget-wise, to make a lot of progress, and this looks like the dems shot themselves in the foot. Just having a majority doesn't cut it if they're advancing a bad image of the party.
