RWers infesting Speak Out again
Feel free to write in response to the boatload of RW letters in Speak Out...

Mine this week were on Peter Jennings, the Coward of Crawford & the Buck Stops Here.

1. Good job! There seems to be a real war going on in Speak Out.
I loved the one the other week that begged for people to right about funny things again. I'll have to get a letter in. Thanks for keeping it up!

2. When I first moved east of the River
Last July, we moved from Newington to East of the River and it was a bunch of RWers bashing Michael Moore's just released "Fahrenheit 9/11"... so, i felt obliged to write in to defend Moore and have been hooked since.

4. there are Republican spots West, too
Avon & Simsbury come to mind... and, I'm sure some of the wealthy towns in Fairfield Cty are pretty Republican-oriented, though I'm guessing pretty moderate on many social issues.

5. yup, the fairfield area is Rep controlled
Only because of money issues though. You can see the divisions right in the wealth averages.

6. That divide is a real old one--before the Revolution the East
was the radical part of the state--Sons of Liberty were rooted here--and the West was more wealthy-loyalist leaning. Seems like we never got over the divide. I remember when we moved from Newington to the east 12 years ago people couldn't imagine that we would CROSS THE RIVER EVERY DAY. Like you had to swim or needed a passport or something. Well, just pulled my Reminder off the mail box. Can't wait to sit down with Speak Out! It was always fun to read, but now it's too good to miss!
