Lieberman versus Orman
So Orman dropped out for only having $1000.00? I am pretty pissed about this.

Here is why: I emailed the email address at timetogojoe.com months ago and told him he should throw the money Orman's way. His address is joe@timetogojoe.com

Here is what he told me:
"I'm not involved with the issues of who will, or will not, run in CT, as long as someone runs against Joe in the primary, they will get access to the database we have built of pledges."

Here's his website. There is money there from donors:

1. If Orman could only raise 1g on his own he was a pretty bad
candidate to begin with.

2. Maybe.
Or maybe people who donated money to places like timetogojoe.com did not donate to Orman, because they were expecting the money to go to him.

3. As unpopular as Joe is among many Dems nationwide
Orman could have raised a lot if he had _any_ type of campaign at all. City council candidates in small towns raise $1000. His webpage was never updated from its initial launch. He did not do any fundraising at all as far as I can see (or any kind of events either). You may know him better than I but what did he do over the last few months? An e-mail appeal to groups like DU and others could have got him thousands easily. A candidate who is not willing to do any work or get others to aid him is undeserving of other people's (timetogojoe.com) money.

A candidate as lazy as he was would be eaten alive by Lieberman. Those pledges are still there and a candidate who wants to do some work can claim them.

4. You're right.
Who's left to face Lieberman, though? At this point, I would even support Nader against him.

5. DeLauro & Larson won't challenge him
Most of the Democrats in the state won't buck the system... heck, it was Republicans who all called for the resignation of Rowland. I didn't hear many high profile Democrats speak out.

6. I wish I had an answer, no one there seems to want to buck the est.
you need a Eugene McCarthy type who's willing to make a tough choice and take teh heat.

Good luck, it'd be a pity if Lieberman had no one opposing him in the primary.

15. I won't EVER pull a ballot with his name on it.
I would either vote for someone else (of ANY party) or not vote at all.

8. Thanks for the link...
On the site there was a link that discussed speculation surrounding Lowell Weicker running as an independent in '06. I'm not too thrilled with Lieberman at the moment so if the vote were today I'd go with Weicker. Not to show my age but Weicker was before my time so I'm not too familiar with what he stands for.

9. Lowell was a maverick
He angered many of the conservatives with his outspoken comments, and he was on the panel that indicted Nixon.

When Lieberman ran against him in 1986, William F. Buckley formed "Buckpac" and raised money to help Joe win. Buckley's often said that Lieberman is his favorite Democrat.

That really shows the kind of Democrat Lieberman is. The Dems in lower Fairfield County can't stand him.

The State Central Democratic Committee won't say anything, because he raises lots of money. And no well-known Dem will run against him, because his name would be mud afterwards.

I've never voted for him, and I never will.

Correction -- I did vote for him for VP in 2000, but that's as far as I'd go.

10. Thanks CT Yankee!
Thanks for the explanation; he actually sounds decent. When Lieberman started supporting the "war on terror" is when I started to see him as a DINO.

17. Boy, I'm glad to see this.
Just came here to see what CT DUers are doing about Lieberman (R-turncoat). He is a disgrace to this party. We can't wait for him to decide to leave like Zelly Zell Miller did. The push needs to come from CT. How can we help? Donate? Let us know at DU which candidate should get the $$$.
