They stopped here in Albany, NY on Wednesday. It was a great day. Cindy wasn't here though, she was in Louisiana.

2. Veterans for Peace will be there, not sure

about Cindy. From what I'm reading she is in LA helping to distribute food and supplies.

The rally on the New Haven Green will be at 3 PM.

6. I made it to the Green but couldn't stay, the bus was late

and I had a family event to attend. Was Cindy there?

Not a huge crowd from 3 to 3:45. Surprised to see so many older folks, good peaceniks from back in the day. Like me, been at it since Vietnam. We've seen it before and sang the songs before.

Good mix tho. Lots of young people and families and kids playing. I remember anti-war rallies such as this (tho with fewer young people, esp. males who in the 60s were still at risk for the draft). Our good, liberal folk.

7. By the time the bus arrived

there was a great crowd - NH Register estimated at 800 which seems about right. There were 5 counter-demonstrators.

I thought the local speakers were great - esp. John Olson from the state AFLCIO - he was speaking when the bus arrived.

Cindy was there - she and the other VFP, etc speakers were very moving. Some audience members were in tears.

The freepers were very rude. One had "soldiers" misspelled on her sign ("soliders") - which Cody Camacho from IVAW pointed out from the stage. Between the reading of the names of the dead from CT and the playing of taps, one freeper yelled out "do their families know you are using their names?" Glares and "shushes" from the rest of the crowd shut her up - temporarily

A collection was taken up to cover expenses. They collected an excess $600 which was donated to the bus tour.

I kept looking for DU t-shirts so I could connect with people. I was wearing a turquoise shirt and was holding the Abu Gharaib photo with the caption, Got Democracy?
