How can we get Dick Blumenthal in the Senate?
It just looks impossible. But I do think he would make a great senator. I know he's running again for AG and he's a wonderful AG, but I have long thought that he should be on the national scene.

1. There are several ways
1. Get a contract out on Joe

2. Have Dick move to Pennsylvania

3. Wait until Chris Dodd or Lieberman retires

I'd love to have him in the Senate, too. Or in the Governor's Mansion. Or in Congress.

He's always been hesitant to run for Governor, and there haven't been any openings for Senate.

2. thanks, connecticut yankee
I agree. I would love to think that those who really think that Joe shoudl go, can't pull enough to really do it. Chris is just too popular, especially since the sub base thing. Joe is such a drag on our party now.

What to do with such a talented guy like Dick?

3. Since Dodd & Lieberman aren't retiring any time soon...
I'd say the chances are pretty slim of him ever being a senator for our fair state. Which is why I'd love to draft Lieberman for governor in 2006. He's one of the few Dems that has a chance against Rell and his neo-con foreign policy views won't be in play as governor. As a former state AG, I bet Lieberman would almost be guaranteed to pick Blumenthal as his replacement.

4. He wouldn't do it
His primary concern is Israel. He can do a lot for them in the Senate, and nothing for them in Hartford.

So it looks like we're stuck with him.

5. The only vote Lieberman would get from me is a vote to convict him of
war crimes. I will never support Lieberman again.
