Coulter coming to UCONN
It's true, Coulter is going to speak at the university on December 7th. This is the same person who said that "these people are not only traitors, they are gutless traitors". :puke:

1. There is a big fight going on on campus over her pay...$16k
Way, way above the normal speaking fees the University normally pays. But the Campus Republicans thought it was sooooo important to get "the other side" out there. Universities are so "liberal," they say.

Student fees are paying for this, and the students are pissed. Paying her so much more than the standard rate means the students have been deprived of some other speaker or activity, just so Coulter can come into one of the most liberal areas of a liberal state and spew hate-speech.

At first I thought it should be fought, but you know what? Coulter SHOULD be heard. In a kind of "you have to see it to believe it" way. Maybe hearing this hate monger spewing live will open some eyes. Especially if there are enough demonstrators outside and hecklers inside. This shrew is a giant step backward for educated people everywhere, especially at a major university. I hope she gets another pie. Several of them. Maybe she'll eat some and gain weight.

2. I sent this email to M. Hubbard at UCONN
Michael.Hubbard@uconn.edu

Dear Mr. Hubbard,

I hope you have some one to counter or ask Ms. Coulture about her abundant lies and why she blindly continues to hold water for the current corrupt Republican Administration! You should note in your introduction of Ann that she has been (fired) asked to leave from many of her media jobs for lying and being inflammatory.

In short I hope you have a balance of views....

Sincerely,

Dr. Moffa

I hope others could send a similar email ;)

4. She's no dummy
I'll bet she's crying all the way to the bank.

Honestly, now, wouldn't you be willing to take fifteen minutes of heckling for $16,000?

I would.

5. I might even consider 15 minutes in bed with her for $16K.
No, I'd kill myself before I could enjoy the money.

7. Looks like it got the students talking
Found the following three op-eds in the UConn "The Daily Journal". Looks like the students may have caused more harm than Ann ever could have managed:

College Republicans Behave Better Than Liberals
http://www.dailycampus.com/media/paper340/news/2005/12/09/Commentary/College.Republicans.Behave.Better.Than.Liberals-1126514.shtml?norewrite&sourcedomain=www.dailycampus.com&mkey=2131937
Excerpt: "I am going to say something I never thought I would say as a UConn student. I commend the College Republicans. Not for their viewpoints, not for their choice of a speaker, but for how they behaved on Monday night during Cindy Sheehan's talk compared to the shameful display Ann Coulter received at the hands of dissenters on Wednesday night. "

UConn Students Displayed Immaturity During Coulter Speech
http://www.dailycampus.com/media/paper340/news/2005/12/09/Commentary/Uconn.Students.Displayed.Immaturity.During.Coulter.Speech-1126512.shtml?norewrite&sourcedomain=www.dailycampus.com&mkey=2131937

Excerpt: "...I am very disappointed in many of my fellow students. I am disappointed not because I disagree with them, but because of their actions Wednesday night.... The status of free speech on this campus is sickening...."

Coulter's Liberal Opponents Assault Free Speech
http://www.dailycampus.com/media/paper340/news/2005/12/09/Commentary/Coulters.Liberal.Opponents.Assault.Free.Speech-1126513.shtml?norewrite&sourcedomain=www.dailycampus.com&mkey=2131937
Excerpt: "Yesterday we proved ourselves to be the closed-minded, liberal college that we really are. Congratulations UConn liberals, Ann Coulter walked away from our school with $16,000 of your money for minimal work. On top of that, our college made national news; shows such as "Hannity and Colmes" and various other networks and newspapers showcased our ignorance on a national scale. "
