I just received another phone call
It was a recorded message from an Anonymous caller (the caller ID listed it as "Unknown Call").

The message was about the fifth I've received in the past few months attacking Chris Shays and, in this instance, specifically linking him with Tom DeLay. It stated that Chris "stood together" with DeLay and were "close allies."

I am so totally turned off by this and the other messages. Aside from the fact that Chris has openly criticized DeLay, there are many instances where Congressmen may cast votes on the same side of an issue without being "close allies."

These messages are obviously coming from the Farrell campaign. In the 2004 election, she was continually stating that Shays was in "DeLay's back pocket," a charge that was totally untrue.

If she wants to argue issues, fine. She says she's waging a "high-minded" campaign. But these phone calls sound like they were orchestrated by Karl Rove.

1. if Shays votes with DeLay 80% of the time?
Is that a good thing or bad thing?

2. It depends
on what he's voting for.

And who else is voting for it.

3. This sounds just like the messages I get about Simmmons---
the person always gives the name of the group at the start of the message--American Family something? I don't know--I'll have to catch it the next time, but it sounds like the same one calling about Shays.

4. Mine didn't identify a group
it just started out with "Tom DeLay is resigning from Congress. Congressman Chris Shays and indicted Congessman Tom DeLay have been linked together for years."
