Jim O'Rourke running for state senate |
|
I am so happy that Ciotto is getting out. Enough for him... Goodbye Billy! The best news is that my state rep Jim O'Rourke is running for the seat and he is a very good progressive. There are also three other challengers but his main challenge will come from Paul Doyle who is an anti-union homophobic Republican lite or the former mayor from Newington who was recently arrested for DUI. Jim is by far the best candidate and if you know anybody in the 9th district please call them and ask them to start talking up Jim O'Rourke.

I heard that Jim O'Rourke may not run for the Senate. I don't get what's going on in our party. It seems the better a candidate is the less of a chance they have of winning. We are apparently willing to support Republican lite candidates rather than true Democrats. Anti union-Anti Gay Paul Doyle instead of Jim O'Rourke? Joe "Kiss Bush" Lieberman instead of Lamont? If we're going to get a Republican lite .....why don't we just vote for the real thing? This election day I may just stay rolled up in a blanket eating junk food and watch some video's.

Jim O'Rourke is a personal friend and I wish him and his family all the best. Bet you didn't know Jim used to display a picture of Ron and Nancy from his college residence (sorry Jim). "Well" that was long ago and I always felt he was just trying to get under the skin of his more "progressive" friends. He's 100% Democrat now and deserves our support.
