Lieberman, DeStefano win AFL-CIO backing
(WTNH, June 27, 2006 6:05 PM) _ Vote 2006 is shaping up with the state's largest labor organization voting to endorse Joe Lieberman and John DeStefano in this summer's Democratic primary.

It brings enormous resources to both men who are expected to be in close contests in the state's first-ever, August state-wide primary election.

1. We'll see how many AFL-CIO members will part from their summer BBQ's to
phone bank for Lieberman. I'm sure the member unions who individually endorsed Lamont will be helping Lamont, not Lieberman.

The AFL-CIO endorsement will give Lieberman some ground troops, perhaps, and Lieberman desperately needs ground troops. He has no ground game right now.

Also, it will be interesting to see how long Olsen can tolerate the stooges -- campaign manger and press secretary -- running Lieberman's campaign. They are the most incompetent bunch and I'm sure glad they work for Lieberman.

When he loses that, they will back Lamont

AFL-CIO backs DeStefano, Lieberman
By Mary E. O'Leary
06/28/2006

-NEW HAVEN — For the first time, the Connecticut AFL-CIO convention threw its weight and resources behind a gubernatorial contender in a primary, backing John DeStefano Jr. in his run for the Democratic Party endorsement.

It also backed U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman in his primary bid to return to Washington for a fourth term, but after listening to dissenting unions upset with Lieberman's stance on trade, the convention limited that support through the Aug. 8 Democratic Party primary vote.

3. And even those who endorsed Lieberman want to be the sh*t out of him

See video of that comment. With friends like this, Lieberman doesn't need enemies.

4. Wonder if they'll revoke the endorsement if Joe doesn't stop the
"the primary doesn't count" shit.
