We are planning a big visual display in New London at the candidate debate on October 23rd, we need your help!
The Lamott/Lieberman debate is 8pm that night and we will be outside with a visual to bring Iraq into the conversation.

Shoes help people visualize unspeakable pain and suffering this war has inflicted on the Iraqi people. We hope to have a pile of 6,000 pairs of shoes to represent 1% of the dead in Iraq since our invasion and occupation.
The banner will say WALK IN THEIR SHOES give peace a vote.

We need volunteers to help get the word out for shoes, to help collect shoes, to be part of the production team, outreach,or to stand with us outside the debate…

1. Despite the poll numbers
this is still a very strange campaign. Will the GOP GOTV really be enthused for Joe? That is hard to get.
Equally hard is whether even the butt kissers who expect Joe to win will rouse any GOTV for Joe. So what you have are other races lining up traditionally- going largely toward motivated Dems, but ticket splitting by BOTH parties in order to benefit dear old Joe. If the polls say this is going to happen so be it. It is very strange. Lamont and the GOP challenger and indeed both parities should have colluded to squeeze the "Independent". Then the national parties might have had the guts to do the same and disavow any influence this swiveling careerist who is not conservative enough to be welcome among the GOp nor loyal enough to be trusted by the Dems. If it is then only the WH chess masters who want Joe then the public can step back and consider why exactly this is such a selling point if the only thing Joe is worth is Bush loyalty votes.
