How is Lieberman playing in Connecticut now? How are the newspapers

covering him? Do Dems there regret their vote? What about his refusal to investigate Katrina even though 46% of DHS budget is unaccounted for? Lots of questions I know but we haven't heard anything about a backlash against him. Is there one other than among progressives?

7. I'm not sure how I'd say the papers are playing this.

But I've heard from several people with serious regrets about their votes for Lieberman. Much buyer's remorse I think.

I would be very, very surprised if he could gain another term. I think he's cooked. Boy, I sure hope so -- cannot stand him!

I think it will be about time for Chris Murphy to run for Senate. :-) In a little over a month, he'll be my Congressman, too.

11. He's had a ton of opportunities to run for something bigger

Including the governor's office... he's never taken the plunge. I can see Murphy doing it, however. I read something about him that impressed me - a lot of Dems were waiting around for Nancy Johnson to retire - and they were waiting and waiting and waiting. Murphy just jumped right in at 33 years old and ended up defeating a 24 year incumbent in a landslide.

He's too cautious. He's afraid of losing what he has.

Actually, he's been a wonderful AG, but he's either just not that ambitious or not a risk-taker.

It's too bad because he'd be great at whatever he'd try.

He gets the spotlight whenever he wants it directed his way. He's a shoe-in for this job every time, so no worries about elections... He's got his niche, and he may be quite comfy there.

Chris is definitely a go-getter. And he's so young, he's got very little to hold him back -- I think he can still afford the "why not?" run.

But we'll see, I guess! Nice to have choices at any rate.

14. I had heard that he wanted to be a judge, but I don't know how

reliable that info was. I do know that he married into some serious money (wife's dad owns Empire State Building)and I get the feeling Dick's family was well off also. He can live a comfortable life in his home in Greenwich. I think the world of him; he has been such a staunch pro-choicer and that makes a big difference whenyou are AG of a state. I'm proud of him.

15. I dont read the papers much, but it will take time to shake him out

of public trust.

He has been around for a while, people dont want to think they invested themselves in someone so bad.
