David Koch Loves Gov. Malloy's Tax Plan
Gov. Dannel Malloy found an unlikely ally in persuading the Connecticut General Assembly to rubber-stamp his budget proposal.

In a new report released last week, the Tax Foundation called Malloy’s plan to broadly raise income taxes by 3 percent a “move toward sound tax policy.” The conservative anti-government think-tank lauded Malloy’s efforts to avoid scapegoating Connecticut’s wealthiest residents: “In an era of millionaire's taxes, such a broad income tax increase acknowledges that the state budget should not, and probably cannot, be balanced solely on the backs of very high-income taxpayers.”

The foundation’s report loves that Malloy hopes to broaden the sales tax to include middle-class things like clothing, car washes and pet grooming...

When you take a closer look at the Tax Foundation, it becomes clear who it represents. You guessed it. The guys who own the yachts.

Back in 1989, the Tax Foundation was sold to Americans for Prosperity, an advocacy group founded by David Koch and his brother, Charles.

For a while, I couldn't understand why Malloy was bullying the public sector unions about cutting $2 billion, but maybe now I know why.
