Tea Partiers Oppose Malloy's Tax Increases On Traditional Tax Day

April 15, 2011|By CHRISTOPHER KEATING, ckeating@courant.com, The Hartford Courant An estimated 750 tea partiers descended upon the state Capitol Friday to complain about Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's proposed $1.9 billion in tax increases that the legislature will decide on in the coming weeks.

Carrying signs and flags, the protesters complained loudly about Malloy's proposed hikes in the income, sales, corporation, gasoline, alcohol and cigarette taxes.

"No more taxes. Period!'' said Tom Scott, a former state senator and longtime tax opponent who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1994. "We are not here to compromise.''

Tea Potty is all a Propaganda Front for Big Corporate Money Billionaires that don't want to pay taxes, IMHO.

well depends who's rates are going up. How are corporation and gas taxes regressive?

3. The people at the bottom usually pay a greater share of their income
for things like gas, sales tax.
Corporation taxes are passed on to the consumer
