1. You do realize it's impossible to walk 5 feet in Delaware....

..and not run into someone work works for one of the 50 bajillion credit card companies here in Delaware, especially in Northern Delaware.

2. Yes. And I know we need those jobs - BUT

not at the expense of so many who will be really hurt by the bankruptcy bill.

I used to be one of the people you'd run into every 5 feet that worked for DuPont. CEO greed and stupidity, offshore plants and research labs plus major lawsuits against their chemicals have moved them out of the first place employers spot here over the past 15-20 years too.

There comes a point where "jobs" can't be the reason we let corporations keep gouging us and lining their own pockets while avoiding US taxes and lining their own pockets.

I'm well aware Congress won't focus on the corporate sins yet but when the policy of constant employee layoffs finally begins to reflect in less work and less profit THEN where will CEOs go to appease their shareholders? Won't the spotlight THEN have to be shined on executive officers' greed, fraud and excess? Of course, only well after all other options and human beings have been used and abused as much as possible - I know. But otherwise, how does it ever end?

The only hope I used to hold was the return of unions but they're not going to let that happen either. And, as history can demonstrate, even unions became more and more corrupt as they gained more and more power.

The answer, unfortunately, is in creating a world of fair and socially conscious human beings with open hearts and open books. Yeah......as IF.
