guys that said they absolutely positively couldn't live without having a taxpayer funded stadium on the waterfront. They just couldn't see the Rays playing here any more, in fact, they were gonna move to some yet undefined place south of St. Petersburg, unless we forked over the land immediately.
The other day, the St. Pete Times ran a story on how the waterfront site was never an option because the Rays and their owners would much rather play on the toytown dump (of course, the taxpayer will still have to pay for the entire thing)
I say, LET'S SEE THE BOOKS AND SHOW US RESIDENTS THE POSITIVE ECONOMIC IMPACT TO THE ENTIRE CITY, before we fork over any more of anything.
