State Sen. Al Lawson endorses Charlie Crist for US Senate

State Sen. Al Lawson endorsed Gov. Charlie Crist for the U.S. Senate Thursday, saying "Charlie's always been there for us" when state employees, rural counties and universities needed help.
The 28-year Tallahassee legislator, who heads the Senate Democratic caucus, said he resents the Florida Democratic Party's support of U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd in their hard-fought primary last month. In addition to the state party, President Obama's "Organizing for America" grassroots operation made phone calls and sent Internet messages to rally Democratic votes for Boyd.
"After they supported Allen Boyd, I have serious doubts about my relationship with this party anyway because of what they did to me in my election," said Lawson. "They were not fair."
Boyd beat Lawson with 51 percent of the vote in the primary.

before the primary? He's only doing it now due to sour grapes of losing the primary for Congress.
