what a crap night for dems in florida - welcome to the new third world country as
we slide further into 1933 and the clueless continue - many of the oldsters will be dead within 10 years and the rest will have to live with this decision they made today - I need to look for another state or country where they like the people - and find out how to move there and find work etc.

...about getting away from these brain-dead bags of protoplasm.
Thank goodness for the 40 percent of Floridians who are not "The most stupidest MF's in the room" :)

2. I know, right?
This is bad. My husband works for Florida Department Of Corrections and part of Scott's "plan" is to cut the budget for DOC by a third...they are running it at bare bones as it is. We are screwed.

3. he wants to drug test welfare recipients - his family live off government
and will again but he doesn't want to cut anyone else a break - why do these people buy into these ads and vote against us and themselves - crop where do I move to now - must be another country where people are sane and I can get health care - no chance in hell now - they should have had the public option and they could have won but obama is centrist and seems to have gone to the right and still lost all those he bent over backwards for - and stuck it to us too - it sucks

5. I know. I am so depressed.
We have such a high unemployment rate yet people voted candidates into office that have no plan to help them only to cut off what safety net they have now.

9. Dude, as I already posted in GD tonight, my congressman is now Allen West.
I don't care where you live in Florida. If you don't live in the 22nd district, you don't feel my pain. This is just horrifying.

I'm at a loss here and now the dumbing down of the state will continue unabated, while the wage scale slides down, down, down.

16. I just can't believe I live in this state
I'm still pissed off that we had this fucking 3 way Senate race. Just to torture myself, I actually added up Meek's votes and Crist's today and, if Crist had just bowed out, we had the votes to win. (this isn't to say that every Crist voter would have voted for Meek, but between the two of them, they had 67,000 more votes than Rubio)

They haven't call the governorship for Scott yet, but I guess Mr. Medicare Fraud is probably going to be our governor. At least my rep won (Ted Deutch). I don't really like him, but he's about 1000X better than any Republican. I feel for those of you who live in Klein's district... I mean... WEST? Holy crap.

OK, depressed all over again... I need to stop obsessing about this.

19. Florida is dead.
We now have Rubio, West, Scott and Webster joining a packed Repuke state house.
Welcome to the chain gangs - which we will soon see along the roads.
Cutting DOC?? That's because Scott's latest venture is PCA - Penitentiary Corporation of America.
Drug testing the needy? Go to DTA - Scott's new company Drug Tests of America!

This state is full of people who are voting against their own damn interests. The elderly who are living off pensions that Scott will cut or eliminate, but they got theirs; the Latinos, who now may have to never leave home without their ID; and the young rednecks, who fell for the "back to work" schtick for the man who never created a job, but eliminated thousands. Perhaps they will at least serve as the de facto brownshirt force for the new Reich.

High speed rail? Dead.
Health care? Dead.
State pensions? Dead
Education? Dead.
Bullshit? Alive and well in the tropics.

Make no mistake, this is beyond awful.

22. Not to mention
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 08:39 AM by kdmorris
Offshore drilling is alive and well.. Fuck Pensacola Beaches... who needs them.
Requiring women who need to have an abortion to look at a sonogram and hear all the details... oh, yeah, that's gonna pass this time
Corporations will be rolling in the dough like pigs in shit and the rest of us are going to suffer

They will also probably overturn the repeal of the ban on gays adopting (make a new law that they hope will be deemed constitutional)... so hopefully nobody gets too attached to their children.

Today I'm so angry and so hopeless that I thought about just walking away from my mortgage and getting the hell out of here(can't sell my house, after all). But, I know I wouldn't do that... mainly because 1.) it's unethical and 2.) I have two adult daughters who live here as well and they will need our help more than ever.

Edited to add: as an atheist, all their bullshit about letting God steer their votes scares the shit out of me, too.

So why do I feel like I got hit by a truck?

Oh yeah, right. Rubio, Posey, Workman, Altman, .... hell, my district couldn't even field a Democratic candidate for State Senate.
