92,000 Florida ballots didn't mark a vote for governor -- REALLY??
According to the Florida Division of Elections, 5,380,847 ballots were cast by Florida's voters on Tuesday. Also according to the Florida Division of Elections, 5,288,864 votes were cast in the governor's race.

http://enight.elections.myflorida.com/CountyStatusPage.aspx

This means that 91,983 registered Florida voters cast ballots in this election, but didn't bother to vote for governor.

How many people would go through the trouble of voting in this election, and not vote for governor? Maybe some would, but 91,983 people??

It makes me think the votes for Alex Sink may still be out there. These are the governor race undervotes by county, from highest to lowest.

1. How did that happen??
I see that here in St Lucie county we had over 1000 undervotes. It was the 3rd item on the ballot. How could you miss it?? I wonder what the other races undervotes were as well?? We have the scan-tron machines in St Lucie. I used to live in Palm Beach and I'm not sure what they changed to. But it is kind of strange that Dade, Broward and Palm Beach have some of the highest undervotes. They were 3 of the bluest counties on Tuesday. You know you should post this in GD. We may have another voter theft in Florida.

2. Sounds bogus to me.

Something similar happened in the 2006 election in Sarasota County. The Dem Christine Jennings lost to the rethuglican by a small margin but there were 18,000 ballots cast that apparently didn't cast a vote in the race Jennings was running in. No one will ever convince me there was no rethug skullduggery going on here.

3. I think people are just stupid.
The first item on the ballot was the US senate race followed by the governor's race. The numbers show that over 50k people that voted for US senate did not vote for Governor.

4. A lot of people didn't like either candidate
A 3rd party candidate got over 120,000 voters, despite little or no campaigning.

5. I buy that.
I know it's anecdotal, but I know quite a few people -- most of them Republicans who wouldn't vote for a Dem. but couldn't bear to vote for Scott -- who said they were leaving the governor spot blank.

6. What a great mind...look what it brought. Vote with anger and hate. Screw yourself and others.

7. I don't think anger and hate had a lot to do with it.
Would you vote Republican if the Democrat in the race was a crook? No, you'd either vote for the Dem. anyway, leave it blank or go third party or something. This is no different.
