Senator Bill Nelson is now supporting Rod Smith for State Democratic Chairman

Senator Bill Nelson (the guy who predicted a 4-point Alex Sink victory) just issued a press release saying nice things about outgoing Florida Democratic Party Chair Karen Thurman.

Here's what his press release doesn't say: Nelson is also phoning Democratic honchos and lobbying behind the scenes for Rod Smith (Sink's running mate) to replace Thurman. Folks who support CFO candidate Lorrane Ausley and Rep. Franklin Sands aren't too happy. No surprise there. Ain't much to be happy about for Florida Democrats these days.
